Nascida em Kutaisi (Geórgia), mas com 8 anos partiu para a Irlanda do Norte e desde os catorze vive em Inglaterra. Em Novembro de 2003 (com 19 anos) gravou o seu primeiro álbum intitulado Call Off the Search que atingiu um milhão de cópias passadas cinco semanas.
